Master Check
A free health check for your finished master, tuned for witch house, trashwave, hardwave and other dark electronic music. Drop in a WAV, AIFF, FLAC or MP3 and get loudness (LUFS), true peak, loudness range, dynamics, a loudness-over-time graph, encoding headroom and what Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and others will do to your track.
- Your audio never leaves your device. Everything is measured in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and there's no account or sign-up.
- Pick your genre below so the loudness advice fits: witch house / dark / ambient about −16 to −7 LUFS, trashwave / hardwave about −11 to −4.5, other electronic about −14 to −6.5.
- Friendly notes, not rules. Every point says what it means and how people usually fix it. Optional: add a reference track for a loudness-matched A/B.

About the numbers
What is LUFS and how loud should my master be?
LUFS measures loudness the way ears hear it (ITU-R BS.1770, the same standard streaming services use). There is no single right number: dark and ambient tracks often sit around −12 to −9 LUFS, loud trashwave and hardwave can go to −6 or louder. Streaming services turn loud masters down anyway, so the check shows how much.
What does true peak mean?
True peak (dBTP) estimates the highest point of the waveform between samples. Peaks above about −1 dBTP can crackle after conversion to MP3 or AAC, so the check also estimates your encoding headroom.
Is my file uploaded or stored?
No. The file is read and measured by your own browser, and nothing is sent to our server. Close the tab and it's gone.
Are there limits?
Up to 15 minutes and 300 MB per file, so phones and small laptops don't run out of memory. For a longer mix, export the loudest few minutes. WAV or FLAC gives the most exact results.
